CPPAS Lite : Are-U-OK ® - For Organizations
Are-U-OK allows organizations that need to send alerts or crowd-source groups of people to do so without the need to develop a proprietary stand-alone software system. It is a flexible framework that can be used by many organizations, with a single app front-end that is free to download from an app store. Are-U-OK is carrier agnostic, will work on both cellular and WiFi networks, and has complete functionality regardless of where a user is internationally. It will run on 95% of all smart phones, and the alerts have no character or media limitations.
The public app is free to download, and provides a secondary and tertiary capability which encourages its normal use. This effectively trains users to understand and expect the standard alerting schema used within the app, and prepares them for actual alerts sent by organizations.
The alerting component itself uses Push technology developed by IReadySystems. This decreases phone battery usage and prevents real-time tracking, thus making its daily use more acceptable to public users. Like the app itself, the Push technology is carrier and operating system agnostic, which means that as new phone carriers and operating systems become available, the system will support them with minimal development.
